Wholesale Representative Requirements

A wholesale representative works in a wholesale agency or a company. The responsibilities that he/she has to shoulder are processing the different business related activities in the company and documenting the details of those. The wholesale representative needs to have good soft skills and marketing abilities so as to sell the customers various branded merchandise goods. He/she is required to assess the quality of the product and market it accordingly. The wholesale representative is also required to have an eye on the current market trends and the preferential maps of the customers in order to help in optimizing the business strategies of the company.

Education requirements:

  • A high school diploma in any stream from a reputed institution with decent grades.
  • Though it is not necessary to have an under-graduate degree to establish one’s self in this field yet a bachelor’s degree in management studies or merchandising trade would prove to be helpful.
  • Certified training in wholesale merchandising or similar courses from an accredited institute would be an added advantage.

Job requirements:

  • A minimum experience of 10 to 12 months as a wholesale representative in a reputed company or in a wholesale agency.
  • Must have capacity to help in maintaining the accounts of merchandise transactions.
  • Should have ample expertise in marketing a brand according to its merits to the targeted customers.
  • Must have a polite behavior and good communication skills.
  • Should be able to document the regular activities.
  • Must be dynamic and able to meet the deadlines.
