Warehouse Manager Requirements

The post of a warehouse manager is essentially a position of administrative stature. The work involves overseeing of all the major operational activities of the warehouse on a day to day basis. The warehouse manager has the responsibility of formulating policies to run the warehouse in a cost effective manner and he/she also has a say in the optimized implementation of these policies. The matter of stock control in the domain of inventory movement and the issues of invoices and clearance of orders are handled by the warehouse manager too. Often, he/she leads a team of subordinate warehouse workers.

Education requirements:

  • A high school diploma in any stream with good grades from a reputed educational institute.
  • An undergraduate degree in management studies or in supply management or in a subject closely related to this field is highly desirable to be seriously considered for this job.
  • Certified training in warehouse management related projects from an accredited institute is a big plus.

Job requirements:

  • A minimum experience of at least 18 to 24 months in a supervisory role in a renowned agency or a company.
  • The interested candidate must have excellent leadership and coordination skills as the work involves handling of a team and allocating warehouse related responsibilities to the individuals.
  • Must keep a tab of all the loading and unloading of the goods and materials.
  • Must possess ample expertise to supervise the documentation works including monitoring of invoice records of the transactions.
  • Should be sincere and meet deadlines on a regular basis.
