The work is more clerical in nature and is not very difficult for an educated person to manage. Warehouse assistants make the processes in warehouse systematic and smooth. The demand for warehouse assistants is there is every kind of sector that has warehousing facilities. The education requirements and job requirements needed to become a warehouse assistant are described below.

Education Requirements:

  • Candidates need to have at least a Bachelor’s degree in any of the related fields like logistics, supply chain, warehouse management, materials management, etc.
  • Applicants who have completed their post graduation in Master of Business Administration with specialisation in Operations are preferable.
  • Candidates with a few years of experience get an edge over others.

Job Requirements:

  • Candidates need to work under warehouse supervisors, follow their orders, and complete the assigned work as per schedule.
  • Ability to communicate well with peers and managers is essential.
  • Candidates will be expected to possess good administrative skills to organize and streamline different functions in a warehouse.
  • Warehouse assistants need to keep track of inventory, handle procurement and dispatch of good from the warehouse, and work in coordination with suppliers and transporters.
  • Candidates should be willing to work under tight deadlines.
  • Candidates should also be flexible with working in shifts as warehouse should be managed 24*7.
  • The candidate should have good interpersonal skills and should be capable of multitasking.
