Veterinary Technologists/Technicians Requirements

As the name of the position suggests, a veterinary technologist or technician has the primary responsibility of processing the technical aspects of the operations related directly or indirectly to the field of veterinary science. The concerned professional has to essentially take into account the working of the equipments in regards to the development of veterinary issues in an animal hospital or in a research institute. In general, a veterinary technologist or technician works on a particular project on an individual basis. He/she also has to rigorously document the every detail of the gradual progress of the specific assignment.

Educational Requirements:

  • A high school degree in the science stream from a reputed educational institute with very good grades.
  • An undergraduate degree in veterinary science from a good veterinary college is very highly sought.
  • The interested applicant must attain an associated degree or diploma in any technical field closely related to the application of the veterinary science.
  • Must have certified training in the projects centered on the application of veterinary science from an accredited institute.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum experience of 12 to 15 months as a veterinary technologist or a technician in a well known research institute or in a firm.
  • Must have ample knowledge in running various machines in the veterinary lab.
  • Should have good documentation skills so that the day to day medical and related research activities are tidily recorded.
  • The candidate must focus on the project specific priorities as has been instructed by the higher management.
