Solar Engineer Requirements

Solar energy is one of the alternate sources of energy that is rapidly becoming extremely important in the society. It is the energy extracted from the heat of the sun. The energy crisis around the world is deepening every moment. For this reason, several new companies and government initiatives have cropped up to exploit the potential of solar energy. A solar engineer is a person who formulates and applies concepts and applications in streamlining the solar energy to run various equipments and machines that are usually run by fuels. The focus of the solar engineer is always to present the society with energy applications that are efficient, pollution free and cheap.

Education Requirements:

  • A high school degree in the science stream with very good grades.
  • A bachelor’s degree in physics or chemistry or mathematics.
  • A master’s degree in electrical engineering or physics from a reputed college or university puts the candidate in a good position to get the job.
  • Certified training from an accredited institute in solar energy related assignments.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum experience of 2 to 3 years as a junior engineer at a research institute or in a company dealing with the social and commercial issues of solar energy applications.
  • Must be well aware of the solar energy-related test equipments and relevant experiments.
  • The candidate must have an analytical frame of mind.
  • He/she should be innovative in formulating the technical features of the solar energy applications.
  • Must be willing to work over-time.
