Social work is a wide field which is committed towards the pursuit of social welfare and social changes. Social workers are those people who have strong desire to improve the life quality of individual, group and a society. Social workers assist and help people to solve the issues of their everyday life. There are many social workers who specialize in serving a particular population or in a specific setting. The education and job requirements for a person to be a social worker are as follows:

Social Worker  Education Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in social work is the minimum educational requirement for a person to be a social worker.
  • A candidate having majors in psychology, sociology and related field will be preferred over others.
  • A master’s degree in social work may be needed for some higher posts.
  • Additional courses and diploma in the field will surely provide an edge over other candidates.

Social Worker Education Requirements:

  • A candidate should be emotionally mature and sensitive to people and their problems.
  • A candidate should be able to handle the responsibility and perform them well
  • A candidate should be capable of maintaining good working relationship with clients and co workers.
  • A candidate should have good communication skills.
  • An applicant should be physically strong and active as they need to travel to different places from time to time and work for long hours.

Thus the above given requirements plays an important role to be an efficient social worker.
