Retail Pharmacy Requirements

In the pharmacy sector, it is very important for the retail business to flourish in order to encapsulate every band of customers from all corners of a locality. The person who is involved in the department of retail pharmacy, rather who is a retail pharmacist, buys the pharmaceutical products from the manufacturers and the wholesalers and sell those to the public at a slightly higher price, the difference being the profit margin. In many instances, a retail pharmacist is the person who plays the role of a manager in a concerned company or in a pharmaceutical retail shop. He/she has some pharmaceutical business executives under him/her.

Education Requirements:

  • A high school degree in any stream from a good educational institute with decent grades.
  • An under-graduate degree in either in pharmacy or in sales and marketing or in a field similar to this arena from a good college would be highly appreciated.
  • Though not necessary, but a master’s degree in pharmacy with an associated diploma in marketing and sales would put the candidate in a very good position to get the job.
  • Certified training in selling of pharmaceutical products from an accredited institute would of great advantage.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum experience of 12 to 18 months as a retail salesperson in a well known business entity.
  • Must be dynamic in approach in selling the pharmaceutical retail products in an innovative manner.
  • Should possess very good documentation skills for recording the daily business activities.
  • Must be able to work over-time.
