Restaurant Supervisor Requirements

In the earlier times restaurant manager had no specific formal education that they needed to undertake to work in a restaurant. But today, times have changed and any person looking for working as a supervisor in a restaurant needs to be professionally qualified to be selected for the said position. Most of the restaurants prefer those who have undertaken a college degree or a diploma that makes them capable to manage the role assigned to them in a restaurant.

Educational Requirements:

  • The candidate should have undertaken a diploma course in hotel management that has modules such as customer service, cost estimation, marketing, food service sanitation and human resources.
  • The candidate should have a minimum of two years of education over high school though better preference will be given to a graduate.
  • The candidate that has acquired any diploma or certification in housekeeping will be preferred.

Job Requirements:

  • The candidate with a minimum work experience of 2-3 years post completion of education will be considered.
  • The candidate that has good communication and supervisory skills will be ideal.
  • The candidate that has experience of activities such as guest seating arrangements, cleaning equipment, food stock, scheduling work for staff on a daily basis will be given maximum preference.
  • The candidate must be willing to relocate to any branch of the restaurant if required.
  • The candidate must be willing to work in any shift that is day or night shift.
  • The candidate should be acquainted with all the rules and regulations of hotel industry.
