Receiving Associate Requirements

The Receiving Associates are those who make stock keeping of inventory and merchandise. They are part of outsourcing companies that handle the promotion and selling of another firm’s merchandise. They can also be involved in export and import of finished products of other firms. Receiving associates need to be good at selling and their revenues depend on the revenues generated out of selling. The revenues have commissions built in. Receiving associates should complete all the paperwork relating to storage and selling of merchandise. The education and job requirements needed for this post are given below.

Education Requirements:

  • Candidates must complete their high school and must possess Bachelor’s degree.
  • Preferred streams to specialise are material management, transportation and shipment, procurement and distribution, and other related fields of study under operations.
  • Candidates should get exposure to the practice concepts which can be built up by working as a trainee or intern in any of the marketing and logistics firms.

Job Requirements:

  • Candidates aspiring to be a Receiving associate must have good communication skills.
  • Candidates should possess knowledge in different marketing techniques.
  • Applicants should be aware of safety procedures which have to be followed while transporting and handling goods and services.
  • Record keeping of collected or returned merchandise, managing appropriate levels of merchandise, and increasing the turnover of the merchandise will determine the income generation of a receiving associate.
  • Candidates should be able to work with multiple partners like suppliers, transportation or logistics companies, etc.
  • Candidates are expected to inform the appropriate supervisors about defects, outdated material, and any discrepancies.
