Radiology is nowadays growing as a popular and diverse field in the medical education. Many students are enrolling for courses in radiology and looking forward for radiologist education. Requirements for undergraduate degree in radiology

  • Completion of high school diploma or GED with good marks is the mandatory requirement. These diplomas must be completed preferably with science or biology as the major subjects.  The aggregate required for admission in high school diploma or GED must be 2.0 or above
  • Then these candidates are required to appear for ACT (American College Testing) or SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test). The candidates scoring high in these examinations stand a better chance for admission.
  • The candidates are also required to pass a medical test which demonstrates that the candidate has a normal physical fitness level and are capable of attending the laboratory and classroom studies without a medical problem.
  • Some institutions providing Radiologist education also require recommendation letters written by teachers for admission.

Requirements for graduate degree in radiology

The graduate level degrees in radiology educate candidates on the advanced radiology technologies and provide in depth knowledge about the traditional radiology concepts included in undergraduate curriculum. The requirements for admission in graduate level degree program in Radiologist College are as follows:

  • The candidates seeking admission in the master’s course in radiology are required to successfully complete the undergraduate course with a good aggregate.
  • The candidates are also required to possess certain level of clinical hands on experience that they can cover through internship programs included in bachelor’s degree, or can enroll for it with a clinical institution.

The candidates looking forward to pursue radiologic assistant education program are required to obtain the radiology certification offered by the organization – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ( ARRT ) and must also possess a minimum of two years of radiology based clinical hands on experience.
