Psychology College Requirements


Planning to take admission in a psychology college; it is very important to know as to which course you wish to go for. Most psychology colleges offer two different courses. One of which is the bachelor’s of arts with Psychology as a major subject and the other is the bachelor’s in science with Psychology as a major subject. The procedure for taking for admission to both these courses is different. Requirement for Admission in Psychology College

  • It is essential to complete a 45 hours college course with a minimum of 2.5 GPA.
  • The second condition that you need to fulfill is to complete university composition requirement with grade C or more.
  • You also need to complete the university mathematics requirement along with 14 hours of each of the mentioned psychology class: PSYC 2950, PSYC 2317, PSYC 1650 and PSYC 1630. You must attain grade C or more in each of these and the average GPA of all these courses must be at least 2.5.

Requirement for admission in Psychology College for bachelor’s of arts with major in psychology

  • A minimum of 120 semester hours are needed with at least 42 being advanced.
  • It is also essential to attend a minimum of 35 hours of psychology course work with 17 hour core and 18 hour of psychology course work
  • One requires attaining a minimum of 2.5 GPA in psychology course and at least 2.0 GPA in all the course work.

Requirement for admission in Psychology College for bachelor’s of science with major in psychology

  • A minimum of 120 semester hours are needed with at least 42 being advanced.
  • A minimum of 35 hours of psychology course work with 23 hour core and 18 hour of psychology course work
  • One requires attaining a minimum of 3.5 GPA in psychology course and at least 3.0 GPA in all the course work.
