Programmer Analyst Requirements

A programmer analyst writes, reviews, creates and modifies computer software programs. This professional analyse the efficiency of any programme written for developing software for the use of their own company or for an external firm. It’s his or her job to encode the program, debug the errors, test for its efficiency and take the necessary steps to increase its performance and efficiency. He or she also has to document the results of the program and research its effectiveness.

Educational Requirements:

  • At least a diploma or an associate’s degree in computer programming, computer science, networking or even mathematics is compulsory.
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering and related field would be an added advantage.
  • To gain a fast promotion or a pay hike, the candidate may also opt for a master’s degree in the same fields.

Job Requirements:

  • The candidate should know various computer languages like COBOL, Visual Basic, Java, and C++ and be able to write codes in them.
  • He or she should be able to collect and analyze data using mathematical skills and solve various problems related to output of the program.
  • Being an important team member who can contribute is an important ability alongside being a good team leader for this job profile.
  • He or she should be able to divide the work among their team members to distribute the work and meet the deadlines with proficiency.
  • The communication skills, both written and oral of the candidate should be very good to facilitate team work and get the job done within time.
