Pre Med Course Requirements

Pre med course requirements include a thorough grounding in the biological sciences or even the hard sciences as this is the course which students have to take up before clearing the MCAT examinations and entering a medical school. Most colleges do not offer premed as a course, or a major, and students often complete an undergraduate program in Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, Chemistry or Zoology as part of their premed course. The Association of American Medical Colleges specify certain courses which have to be completed by a student aiming for a medical seat and these are considered to be a part of his premedical “track”. Since very few colleges offer a major in premed, the premed track, or path that a student must pursue in order to obtain a medical seat, includes an in-depth knowledge of the natural sciences.
