Pharmaceuticals Sales Representative Requirements

Selling of goods and services is the main operational activity of a company that garners revenue earnings for it. In this regards, the sales job in a pharmaceutical company is of extreme importance. The pharmaceutical sales representative has a host of responsibilities to shoulder. The main priority is meeting the periodic sales targets as set by the management. The sales target is chalked mainly on a monthly basis. Almost every occasion witnesses the work of a pharmaceuticals sales representative working in a team of sales executives under a supervisor. The work also demands a certain extent of documentation of the regular business activities.

Education Requirements:

  • A high school degree in any stream from a good educational institute with decent grades.
  • A bachelor’s degree in sales and marketing or in a field similar to this arena from a good college would be highly appreciated.
  • Though not necessary, but a master’s degree in business and administration with specialization in marketing and sales would put the candidate in a very good position to get the job.
  • Certified training in selling of pharmaceutical products from an accredited institute would of great advantage.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum experience of about 12 to 15 months at the position of a pharmaceuticals sales representative in a well known company.
  • Must have good skills of documentation in order to record the daily business activities centered on sales.
  • Should be a very good team player.
  • Must meet the monthly targets as set by the higher management.
