Oil Rig Manager Requirements

The job of an Oil rig manager is typical of the oil and drilling industry and varies only in location and capacity, but not in nature. An oil rig manager leads the team members in the crew who are responsible for the drilling operation. he not only oversees their work but is also resolves any conflicts and issues that might occur from time to time. The salary offered in such positions are very high, but a candidate must fulfill a number of criterion and standards before he can apply for this position.

Oil Rig Manager Educational Requirements-

à        Candidates should have a valid First Aid certification

à        Candidates should poses a H2S Alive certification and Fall Protection and Rig Rescue certification

à        Candidates should have Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification and waste Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) certification

à        Candidates should poses Special Oilfield Boilers certification

à        Candidates should have an experience of a minimum of 10 years in the industry to qualify as a rig manager.

Oil Rig Manager Job Requirements:

à        Applicant should have physical stability as he will be required to work offshore under extreme weather conditions.

à        Applicant should have the ability to think ahead, plan and direct other team members

à        Applicant should be well trained to lead and team and should have good organizational capacity

The job of an Oil rig manager is very strenuous and requires both physical and mental stability on the part of the candidate to succeed in it.
