Oil Refinery Supervisor Requirements

The prime responsibility of an oil refinery supervisor is to manage the various operational activities of the refinery. He/she needs to focus on both the administrative and technical aspects of the oil refinery functioning. There are several processes that take place in an oil refinery. An oil refinery supervisor has the task to streamline those processes from important perspectives such as logistics, cost effectiveness and profitability. He/she needs also to see the department of maintenance and repairs of the refinery equipments and infrastructural machines etc. It is imperative for an oil refinery supervisor to file the day to day business related activities.

Education Requirements:

  • A high school degree in the science stream.
  • A bachelor’s degree in petroleum studies or in a subject very similar to this field.
  • Though it is not necessary, but a master’s degree in management studies or an associated diploma in petroleum technology studies would be of great benefit to the candidate.
  • Certified training from an accredited institute in regards to supervising refinery operations is an added advantage.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum experience of 3 to 4 years as a mid-level administrative executive in a reputed oil company.
  • The interested candidate must have ample expertise about the technical aspects of running a refinery.
  • He/she must evaluate the quality of the performance of the subordinate employees.
  • Must possess good administrative skills and able to efficiently lead in processing particular projects.
  • Should be having very good coordination skills.
  • Must meet deadline.
  • Should be willing to work overtime when required.
