Oil Field Manager Requirements

As the name of the position suggests, an oil field manager has the primary responsibility to supervise every kind of administrative and technical activities at a specific oil field. The oil field manager leads a team of subordinate executives at the spot of main operations concerning the rigging of oil and the related matters. He or she is required to record the day to day progress of the projects and suggest measures to run operations in a cost effective manner. On certain occasions, he/she may have to assist in marketing the oil products to the targeted vendors and customers.

Education Requirements:

  • A high school degree in the science stream with good grades.
  • A bachelor’s degree in geology or in petroleum technology from a decent college is a must.
  • A graduate degree in the geological sciences or in petroleum technology is extremely desirable for being seriously considered for the job.
  • A technical degree in oil management is beneficial for the candidate.
  • Certified training from an accredited institute in oil related projects and assignments are plus points in the candidate’s profile.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum experience of 3 to 5 years in a reputed oil company at the position of an oil field manager.
  • Should have ample expertise about the machine tools and equipments generally used at the oil field for various operations.
  • Must have excellent coordination skills.
  • Should have good strategy-making skills.
  • Must incorporate cost effective measures to run the relevant functions in a flawless manner.
