Office Trainee Requirements

An office trainee is a generalist entry level administrative role of an organization. The office trainee can work in front office or back office of the firm. If the candidate is working in the front office, then he has to have a pleasant personality, should welcome the clients and visitors, should direct them to the right department, etc. An office trainee should also receive any communication messages addressed for the firm through post, fax, courier, etc. Candidates who want to become office trainees need not possess any mandatory educational training. Only high school or graduation degree in any stream would be sufficient. But they should have basic computer skills, a pleasant attitude, and good arithmetic skills. The following educational requirements and job requirements of an office trainee helps you know better.

Education Requirements:

  • There is no definite and mandatory educational requirement to become an office trainee. However a candidate who has completed their graduation in any stream with good grades is preferred.
  • Candidates will be tested in their personality, interpersonal skills, and ability to handle pressure with cool and composure in their job interviews.
  • Candidates must learn computer skills particularly MS Office tools and simple arithmetic skills.

Job Requirements:

  • Candidates must have an overall pleasing personality to handle clients and visitors who visit the office. They should address their queries and connect them to the appropriate departments.
  • They should take phone calls and be equipped to resolve their queries or at least obtain help from other authorities.
  • An office trainee should be able to work in shifts and sometimes deal with pressure situations.
  • They should also have good coordination and communication skills.
