Nursing Informatics Education Requirements

The nursing informatics education requirement should encompass nursing science, information science, and computer science.   • In order to pursue a career in nursing informatics you will need to complete your high school education.
  • You need to complete your Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) degree program from a reputed college. Alternatively, you can also pursue a Bachelor of Science in Health Informatics program as well.
  • After completing your BSN degree, you need to enroll for Master of Science in Health Informatics program.  The Master’s program consists of 11 courses and 33 credits.
  • After completing your Master’s program, you need to apply for your nursing license. You will need to appear for and clear the National Council Licensure Examination for Nurses examination (NCLEX-RN).
