Nuclear Equipment Technician Requirements

A person who is holding a position of a nuclear equipment technician has a host of responsibilities to shoulder. He/she is required to thoroughly maintain the standard of the nuclear equipments and allied machines that are used in a nuclear power plant and similar settings. It is compulsory to constantly keep a tab on proper implementation of the prescribed safety regulations in these types of environments. The concerned professional has also the task of providing the management with suggestive measures for improving the efficiency of the nuclear equipments. He/she has the onus to assist in formulating the technical details of running the equipments.

Education Requirements:

  • A high school degree in the science stream with good grades in physics and mathematics.
  • An undergraduate degree in physics or in mathematics from a reputed university is a compulsory qualification.
  • Though it is not necessary, but a master’s degree in physics or in mathematics with specialization in nuclear physics from a reputed college would place the candidate at an advantageous position.
  • A license from the concerned authorities to work as a nuclear equipment technician.
  • Certified training in maintaining the nuclear equipments would be a strong point.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum experience of at least 12 to 15 months as a nuclear equipment technician in a government organization.
  • The interested applicant must have vast application based knowledge about the technical details of the nuclear equipments.
  • Should be able to document the proceedings centered on the functioning of the nuclear equipments on a regular basis.
