Master Chef Requirements

Every big and medium hotel and restaurant has the main service of catering food items as one of the major services. The food is essentially prepared by a team of chefs who are expert at cooking items of various genres. The master chef is the leader of this team. The master chef guides the subordinate chefs to prepare various kinds of food items as per the menu of the hotel or the restaurant. He/she needs to be very skillful in terms making innovation of the taste of good food and bringing in new items every now and then to surprise and elate the customers.

Education Requirements:

  • A high school degree from a reputed educational institute in any stream with good grades.
  • The candidate should be a graduate in hotel management from a good college.
  • The candidates with associated degrees and diplomas in culinary studies are at an advantageous position to be considered for the job.
  • Certified training in cooking and food tasting from an accredited institute is a big plus point in the candidate’s profile.

Job Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum experience of 15 to 18 months at the position of a senior chef in a well known restaurant, hotel or club.
  • Should be possessing ample knowledge about both traditional and exotic varieties of food and ways of preparing those.
  • Must be having very good coordination skills for managing a team of chefs.
  • Should keep an account of the raw materials used in cooking.
  • Should be sincere.
