A marketing planner is a professional who works for planning the marketing activities of a client. These marketing activities are required for increasing the awareness and buying intention of the customer. The marketing planner coordinates with other departments of the client firm like marketing and sales, advertising, promotion, public relations, etc. By coordinating they finalise on the integrated marketing plan so that the message that the firm wants to communicate to the end audience is effectively reached. Candidates who want to become marketing planners should at least have a Bachelor’s degree and preferably a master degree in media management or marketing management. Candidates who possess a few years of work experience will find it extremely handy during the interview process and also while carrying out the duties as a marketing planner.   • Candidates who want to become a marketing planner should take up master degree courses in marketing management.
  • Candidates should look for apprenticeship opportunities in companies especially in the marketing department to gain hands-on experience.
  • Candidates who have full time work experience in marketing firms or marketing departments like advertising, communication, promotion, media relations, etc will be preferred over others.

Job Requirements:

  • As a marketing planner, candidates are expected to make marketing strategies through different communication channels after doing the cost-benefit analysis.
  • After conducting marketing activities, marketing planners do their effectiveness testing by analysing the increase in demand for the product or service of the firm.
  • The marketing planners also help the client firm do the costing and pricing for their products so as to increase the profits of the firm.
