Maintenance Supervisor Requirements

A maintenance supervisor has a host of tasks to attend. The chief among those is overseeing the operations of certain facilities, their maintenance and upgrading on a regular basis. The maintenance supervisor has to control a team of subordinate workers and coordinate between them and other departments for cost effective measures to run the various maintenance related processes. It is one of the prime responsibilities of the maintenance supervisor to locate the technical defects of the facility equipments and machines and apply the remedial measures for repairing those within a specified period of time.

Education requirements:

  • For becoming a maintenance supervisor, the foremost priority is a high school diploma from a good institute with good grades.
  • The candidate must have attained an undergraduate degree in planning and administrative studies or in a subject related to this field from a renowned college or university.
  • Those with master’s degree in planning and administrative studies are highly favorable in the job market.
  • Certified training in supervisory assignment in regards to maintenance activities is a big plus for the candidate.

Job requirements:

  • The candidate must have an experience of at least 3 years in an executive position in a reputed company.
  • Coordinating with the staffs at all levels for processing the maintenance related projects within the stipulated time-frame.
  • The candidates must have ample expertise to finish the maintenance related supervisory tasks in urgent cases.
  • Must have good skills of documenting the maintenance activities on a regular basis and analyze them qualitatively.
