Maintenance Shift Supervisor Requirements

The maintenance shift supervisor has to oversee a number of operational activities of the company centered on maintenance of the facilities and various kinds of machines and equipments. The focus is to apply the organizational skills to coordinate between the maintenance staffs and execute the formulated plans of streamlining maintenance shift activities in a cost effective manner. It is, as has been mentioned, a supervisory role and monitors the activities of the subordinates and preparation of relevant reports on the progress of various projects. This job has got an administrative dimension attached to it.

Education requirements:

  • The interested person must be a high school pass-out from a good educational institute in any stream with good grades. A pass in the science stream is highly advantageous.
  • An undergraduate degree in management studies or maintenance planning or in administrative studies from a reputed college with good grades is a mandatory requirement.
  • Certified training in supervisory work in maintenance shift related assignments is a big plus.

Job requirements:

  • Should possess a minimum experience of 3 years in a supervisory role related to maintenance shift activities in a reputed company with good professional credentials.
  • Must have the expertise to formulate and maintain the planned shift cycles for various kinds of maintenance activities.
  • Should be able to analyze the quality standards of the maintenance related operations and must be innovative to suggest cost effective measures to improve them.
  • Must be able to regularly document the processing of different shift related operations.
