Maintenance Electrician Requirements

As the title of the profession signifies, the maintenance electrician has the prime responsibility to check for the performance levels of the electrical equipments in a facility arrangement, find technical defects if any and solve the problems. It is also the task of the maintenance electrician to improve the quality of output of the electrical systems and related equipments from time to time. From a general perspective, a maintenance electrician works under a maintenance manager and has to abide by the general regulatory framework of the company and coordinate well with the colleagues and the subordinates.

Education requirements:

  • A passing diploma from an accredited high school, preferably in the science stream with mathematics as one of the subjects.
  • An undergraduate degree or even an associate degree from a reputed college in the field of electrical engineering is a must to be seriously considered for the job.
  • Certified training in electrical engineering related projects from a renowned institute is highly desirable.

Job requirements:

  • An experience of at least 2 years in a supervisory role in a reputed company.
  • Must possess ample expertise in handling and methodical testing of variegated types of electrical equipments and tools.
  • Must be aware of the safety norms prevailing at the work-place and should comply with each of those.
  • Must maintain a log of the assignments focusing on the maintenance of the electrical equipments.
  • Must exhibit good coordination skills and a team spirit.
  • Must finish all the given maintenance related tasks within the time-frame.
