Maintenance Electrician Apprentice Requirements

A Maintenance Electrician Apprentice is the trainee who works under an electrician and ensures smooth conduct of business operations. He looks after electricity of the firm, manages and repairs periodic or sudden breakdowns, and is responsible to ensure that the operations of the business are not hit drastically. They can work in companies of every sector. To prevent long or sudden downtimes, they conduct periodic checks of the functioning of the systems and machines of a firm. Following is the information on the education and job requirements of a Maintenance Electrician Apprentice.

Education Requirements:

  • After completing high school, one can opt for Bachelor’s course in Engineering in streams such as Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Certification or short-term programs on Maintenance and Electricals also help to get an apprenticeship as a Maintenance Electrician.
  • A part-time or distance diploma in any of the relevant subjects like Mechanics and Electricals can also be considered for the job.

Job Requirements:

  • Candidates willing to work as a Maintenance Electrician Apprentice should possess good technical skills in Mechanics and Electricals.
  • Ability to handle and knowledge of various tools and machines will make the candidate preferable over others.
  • The candidates should be able to detect errors or malfunctioning of electrical equipments and take immediate corrective action.
  • The Mechanical Electrician Apprentice should be able to grasp all basic fundamentals and work under an electrician.
  • The candidate must be able to reach the office at any time during contingencies.
  • The candidate must also be able to work in shifts.
