Insurance Sales Manager Requirements

Insurance is big market that is growing in leaps and bounds with each passing day. The insurance sales manager has the primary task of supervising and modulating the operations directed towards selling of insurance policies of a company or a franchisee to the targeted customers. There are two broad categories of insurance – life insurance and general insurance. The insurance sales manager either handles any of these categories or looks after both the varieties. He/she ahs to manage a team of sales executives or representatives and train them accordingly to meet the monthly sales targets of the insurance policies that garner revenue earnings for the concerned company.

Education Requirements:

  • The applicant must have a high school degree, preferably in commerce stream, with decent grades.
  • A bachelor’s degree in insurance management or sales or related subject is mandatory to be seriously considered for the post.
  • The candidates with a graduate degree in insurance management and related sales and marketing from a reputed college or university are highly favored.
  • Certified training in the field of insurance sales and allied marketing operations from an accredited institute is a big plus in the candidate’s profile.

Job Requirements:

  • The interested applicant must possess excellent coordination skills in order to manage a team of insurance sales executives.
  • Should be able to design the sales strategies of the insurance policies and able to implement those in a cost-effective manner.
  • Must document the sales activities on a regular basis.
  • Should prioritize the monthly sales target with innovative measures to achieve it.
