Forklift Operations Supervisor Requirements

The forklift operations supervisor has to shoulder a host of responsibilities. The primary of which is to manage the movements and other related dynamics of the industrial equipments. This maneuvering is done for the purpose of streamlining the transfer of different goods and materials into the warehouses. The forklift operations supervisor has the task of checking the functions of the machines and maintaining their performance quality and recommend for upgrading if necessary. He/she usually leads a team of subordinate workers who perform the different stages of forklift operations related tasks. Usually, the professional works in a shipping dock or in airports.

Education requirements:

  • A high school diploma from a reputed educational institute with good grades in the science stream.
  • The candidate must hold an under-graduate degree in the subject of operations management or in any closely related subject related to this field.
  • Certified training from an accredited institute in forklift operations would work highly in favor of the candidate.
  • A master’s degree in operations management is an added plus.

Job requirements:

  • A minimum experience of at least 2 to 3 years in a reputed company as an executive performing or supervising the forklift operations.
  • Should possess good leadership attributes and fine coordination skills as the work requires managing a team of subordinate workers.
  • Should be accurate in maintaining the records of every type of inventory.
  • Must monitor the loading and the unloading of the materials.
  • Must regularly document the various details of the forklift operations.
