Financial Controller Requirements

A financial controller is entrusted with the job of maintaining and preparing the financial records of a company. It also requires co-ordination of auditing with internal and external auditors. It also encompasses, but does not end with managing day to day budgets. He or she is also held responsible for any financial decisions as he or she is the person who authorizes it. All in all, it is a job that requires a person of commendable skills.

Financial Controller Educational Requirements:

  • A four year Bachelor’s degree with subjects such as accounting, business or management is desired.
  • Individuals with a MBA degree would be given preference.
  • They also should have a sound knowledge of handling data and hence should know the usage of MS- office for better handling of the jobs.
  • Larger reputable organizations demand a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification for choosing their candidate

Financial Controller Job requirements:

  • Many years in fields like financial planning, cost accounting and budgeting would work as a positive point for the candidate.
  • For higher posts, a minimum of 6- 8 years of experience is required.
  • The individual should also have the ability to lead projects, exemplary communication skills in both oral and written aspects.
  • The candidate should be good with numbers.
