In a hotel, a desk clerk is the first person that a hotel guest sees and meets on entering the hotel. The clerk has to greet the guest on arrival and check in the person. In addition, the desk clerk would have to collect the fees, handle credit cards, check identity proof, provide directions around the hotel, handle checkouts, assign room keys and maintain documentation of each guest. Hence, the minimum education requirement to become a desk clerk is high school diploma with fair working knowledge of mathematics.
