Company Secretary Requirements

A company secretary’s post is primarily about overseeing the regulatory norms of the public or private concern. It is an extremely responsible position to hold, as the fundamental statutory functioning of the company depends on it. He/she is the concern’s named representative, legally. He/she acts as a bridge in between the directors and the shareholders of the company. For the appointment of a productive Company Secretary, the following are the education and job requirements.

Education Requirements:

  • A pass in 10+2 higher secondary examination to enroll in the foundation courses of Company Secretary.
  • A bachelor’s degree (master’s degree is preferable) to enroll in the intermediate courses of Company Secretary or a pass in the foundation courses.
  • A pass in the final courses of Company Secretary after clearing the intermediate courses.
  • A certificate in MS-Office is expected.

Job Requirements:

  • The candidate must have an excellent grasp over communicative English – both in speaking and writing.
  • He/she should have an analytical mind to comprehend and manage the regulatory structure and governance mechanisms of the company.
  • The applicant must also show innovation in planning, strategizing and implementing the policies intended for the growth of the company in terms of goodwill and commercial gains.

Hence, going in accordance of the above mentioned points, a company would be able to recruit the able candidate.
