A clinical social worker’s job is very interesting as it involves interacting with variegated people from different strata of the society. The work mainly involves providing clinical assistance in form of consulting advices, medical support and diagnostic treatments to the children and adults. The clinical social worker has the platform to work for a government nursing home or medical center or a hospital. He/she can also choose the alternative to work for private hospital. Some of the clinical social workers, after gaining ample experience in the field, do freelancing. The medical health, in particular the mental health of the people is carefully supervised by the clinical social worker. Education requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree with at least second class grades from a reputed institute in the clinical psychology stream.
  • A graduate degree with decent grades from an accredited institute in clinical psychology is highly sought.
  • Certified training in social work related to the field of clinical psychology works in favor of the candidate.

Job requirements:

  • A minimum experience of at least 2 years in the field of clinical psychology in a reputed company/organization.
  • Excellent communication skills in order to interact with the patients in a lucid manner.
  • Gathering information by conducting extensive interviews of the patients.
  • The interested candidates must have expertise in applying various clinical diagnostic methodologies from a social perspective and modulate them as per the age of the patient.
  • Should be able to document the cases on a regular basis.
