Chief Financial Officer Requirements

The topmost position in the financial department of a public or private organization is known as the chief financial officer. He/she oversees the complete accounting practices that take place within the statutory framework of the company. The chief financial officer has a host of responsibilities including financial policy-making and implementation, preparation and analysis of financial reports, moderation of the audit department, monitoring the process of allocating funds. The concerned person also suggests measures to raise fresh capital and plays a major role in the growth of the organization.

Education Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in economics/finance/accountancy with at least a second class honors degree.
  • A master’s degree in economics/finance/accountancy.
  • Master’s in Business Administration with Finance specialization is highly desirable.
  • Training in analytical software packages is a must.

Job requirements:

  • The candidate should be fluent in communicating with the clients and his subordinates and coordinate the financial operations in a strategic manner.
  • He/she must have a very god analytical frame of mind and must be able to handle any kind of relevant statistical operation of financial data.
  • He should be good with numbers
  • He should have good interpersonal skills.
