Biochemist Requirements

The position of a biochemist is of extreme importance in a medical research institute or in a pharmaceutical company. He/she has to conduct certain experiments that focus on the development of the pharmaceutical products and formulating the relevant processes in regards to other aspects of the medical science. On most of the occasions, the biochemist works individually in the company’s or the institute’s state of the art laboratory. The person has to report about the progress of the research to his/her supervisor or guide. He/she needs to neatly document the regular progress of the biochemical research studies.

Education Requirements:

  • A high school degree in the science stream with very good grades in chemistry and biology.
  • A bachelor’s degree in chemistry from a reputed college with excellent grades is highly sought.
  • The candidates with graduate degree in chemistry or in biochemistry from a well known university are at an advantageous position to get the job.
  • Certified training in biochemistry related assignments from an accredited institute is a huge plus point in the candidate’s profile.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum experience of 18 to 24 months as a biochemist in a reputed research institute or in a pharmaceutical company.
  • Should possess ample expertise in the field of biochemistry and must have variegated application based knowledge of the industry based on biochemistry.
  • Must be able to efficiently handle the relevant equipments in the lab meant for the works of a biochemist.
  • Should be able to pertinently follow the instructions.
  • Must work overtime when required.
