Automotive Service Technician Requirements

The job of an automotive service technician mainly involves maintaining the mechanics of the automobiles and related equipments. The automotive service technician check for the faults in the machine parts of the vehicles and recommend measures to eradicate the technical problems. He/she needs to regularly monitor the tests aimed at checking the performance levels of the machine parts. He/she works for either a private company or a public entity. Education Requirements:

  • A high school diploma in science stream with decent grades.
  • A bachelor’s of technology degree in mechanical/automobile engineering with at least a second class honors is preferred.
  • Certified training in automotive engineering is an added advantage.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum experience of at least 1 year in the automobile industry.
  • Must have the expertise to speedily diagnose the mechanical problems of the vehicles and the related automated parts.
  • Should be aware of the conventional test conditions and measures to check for the performance levels of the equipments.
  • Must be a sincere team player and obey the instructions of the supervisor.
  • Should have the knowledge of different types of fuels systems and various kinds of automation.
