To define very precisely, an ambassador is a professional who represents his /her home country. These professionals generally reside in other country, and represent their own country there. This profession comes under the category of top level government jobs; hence the education and training requirements are complex. Although education can be possessed in any stream, but the mandatory requirement for these candidates is to possess experience in political or government work.

To prepare for this job, the candidates must possess excellent knowledge about current events and happenings, their effect, their expected effect and situations that made that event possible. To become an ambassador, a candidate must possess following degrees and certifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Bachelor’s degree in arts, political science, political affairs, social science, social work or any related stream
  • Master’s degree in arts, political science or in any other specialization related with politics
  • To succeed in getting the job opportunity as ambassador, a candidate is required to possess at least 4-10 years of political or government job experience.

Although there is no specially designed training g program for such officials, but they can gain the requisite skills by working at other political positions.  A person gets appointed to the position of ambassador often by high level political officials like president, hence it is very important for ambassador aspirants to build positive, healthy and strong relations & rapport with political officials.

These candidates must possess excellent communication and well as listening skills. They must be very confident and should have leadership qualities. Another very critical requirement to become a favorable candidate for the position of ambassador is to be well informed about all the latest happening especially political happenings not only in the country but in the entire world.
