Aircraft Technician Requirements

An aircraft technician has a host of responsibilities to look after. The foremost task of an aircraft technician is to maintain the safety norms and flying regulations of an aircraft. He/she is required to test and check for faults and leakages, if any, in the various machine parts of an aircraft. He/she also needs to do routine tests of the hydraulic systems integrated in the aircraft and the turbine blades. The points that are mentioned below are good indicators regarding the education and job requirements for this particular post.

Education Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s of technology degree in aircraft/mechanical engineering from a reputed institute with at least second class grades.
  • A master’s of technology degree in aircraft/mechanical engineering from a reputed institute with at least second class grades.
  • Certified diploma in aircraft maintenance is always an added advantage.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the aircraft industry.
  • Possessing extensive knowledge about the aircraft surface and safety regulations in regards to the supporting aircraft equipments.
  • Able to regularly test the brakes and gears of the aircraft and locating faults, if any, and prescribing remedial measures for the technical faults.
  • Should be a very good team player.
